Biography

Ingrid Abramovitch is a writer and editor specializing in design, architecture, and lifestyle. She is currently the editor at large at ELLE DECOR magazine in New York . She is also the author of Restoring a House in the City, a book about restoring townhouses, brownstones, and other older urban residences. A longtime magazine editor and writer at such publications as House & Garden and Martha Stewart Living, she has also worked as a book editor at Artisan Books in New York where she acquired and edited a variety of cooking and lifestyle titles including the Frankies Spuntino Kitchen Companion and Cooking Manual and Design*Sponge At Home. A native of Montreal, for the last 12 years Ingrid has lived in Carroll Gardens, Brooklyn, with her husband Joel Simon and their two daughters, Ruby and Lola.
